A new crossover dynamics mathematical model of monkeypox disease based on fractional differential equations and the Ψ-Caputo derivative: Numerical treatments

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
A novel crossover model for monkeypox disease that incorporates Ψ-Caputo fractional derivatives is presented here, where we use a simple nonstandard kernel function Ψ(t).

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Necessary optimality conditions for fractional action-like problems with intrinsic and observer times [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We prove higher-order Euler-Lagrange and DuBois-Reymond stationary conditions to fractional action-like variational problems.

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

High-order finite difference methods for time-fractional subdiffusion equation

open access: yes, 2013
Two finite difference methods for time-fractional subdiffusion equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions are developed. The methods are unconditionally stable and convergent of order (τq+h2) in the sense of discrete L2 norm, where q(q=2-β or 2) is ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Option Pricing in a Fractional Brownian Motion Environment [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this paper is to obtain a fractional Black-Scholes formula for the price of an option for every t in [0,T], a fractional Black-Scholes equation and a risk-neutral valuation theorem if the underlying is driven by a fractional Brownian ...

Existence of Solutions to a System of Fractional q-Difference Boundary Value Problems

open access: yes
We are investigating the existence of solutions to a system of two fractional q-difference equations containing fractional q-integral terms, subject to multi-point boundary conditions that encompass q-derivatives and fractional q-derivatives of different

Single‐cell DNA methylation profiling: Technologies, computation, and applications in precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...

Analysis of Mild Extremal Solutions in Nonlinear Caputo-Type Fractional Delay Difference Equations

open access: yes
This study investigates extremal solutions for fractional-order delayed difference equations, utilizing the Caputo nabla operator to establish mild lower and upper approximations via discrete fractional calculus. A new approach is employed to demonstrate
