On FIR Filter Approximation of Fractional-Order Differentiators and Integrators

IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems, 2013
This paper considers finite-length impulse response (FIR) filter approximation of differentiators and integrators, collectively called differintegrators. The paper introduces and compares three different FIR filter structures for this purpose, all of which are optimized in the minimax sense using iterative reweighted l1-norm minimization.

Exponential Integrators for Fractional Differential Equations

2014
Exponential integrators are a well-established class of effective methods for the numerical integration of systems of differential equations of large dimension, especially in the presence of stiffness. Problems of this kind are common in several applications and usually come from semi-discretization of partial differential equations.
