Abstract This study focuses on the extraction of nickel ions from an aqueous solution using a green emulsion liquid membrane (GELM). Its primary objective is to choose between corn oil and sunflower oil as a solvent in GELM and compare their performance with a kerosene‐based emulsion liquid membrane (ELM).

Approximate theory-aided robust efficient factorial fractions under baseline parametrization [PDF]
With reference to a baseline parametrization, we explore highly efficient fractional factorial designs for inference on the main effects and, perhaps, some interactions. Our tools include approximate theory together with certain carefully devised discretization procedures.

Lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) obtained from the black mass of recycled lithium batteries is dissolved in water under controlled conditions to remove lithium fluoride (LiF), which is present at a concentration of 3.08 % by weight. The dissolution is carried out at temperatures below 10 °C, and it has been demonstrated that lower temperatures result in ...

Design of Experiments for Screening [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to review methods of designing screening experiments, ranging from designs originally developed for physical experiments to those especially tailored to experiments on numerical models. The strengths and weaknesses of the various designs for screening variables in numerical models are discussed.

Abstract Obesity and heart failure (HF) represent two growing pandemics. In the general population, obesity affects one in eight adults and is linked with an increased risk for HF. Obesity is even more common in patients with HF, where it complicates the diagnosis of HF and is linked with worse symptoms and impaired exercise capacity. Over the past few

Characterizations of indicator functions and contrast representations of fractional factorial designs with multi-level factors [PDF]
A polynomial indicator function of designs is first introduced by Fontana, Pistone and Rogantin (2000) for two-level designs. They give the structure of the indicator function of two-level designs, especially from the viewpoints of the orthogonality of the designs.
