Optimal Designs for 2^k Factorial Experiments with Binary Response [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
We consider the problem of obtaining D-optimal designs for factorial experiments with a binary response and $k$ qualitative factors each at two levels. We obtain a characterization for a design to be locally D-optimal. Based on this characterization, we develop efficient numerical techniques to search for locally D-optimal designs.

Analysis of variance of balanced fractional factorial designs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1993
AbstractThis paper surveys the analysis of variance (ANOVA) of balanced fractional factorial designs derived from balanced arrays. Attention is focused on ANOVA obtained by use of the algebraic structure of the triangular multidimensional partially balanced association scheme and the multidimensional relationship.

Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) for Material Design and Engineering Applications: A Quantitative Computational Framework

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) in material design and engineering has led to significant improvements in predictive modeling of material properties. However, the lack of interpretability in machine learning (ML)‐based material informatics presents a major barrier to its practical adoption.

Effect of thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay on the characteristics of high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay compounded with high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites for injection moulding. Abstract This study focused on the performance evaluation of clay and thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fiber to reinforce low‐ and high‐density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE) biocomposites. A 23 factorial experiment was designed using

Development and Validation of a Capillary Electrophoresis Coupled to Mass Spectrometry Pipeline for Comparable Assessment of the Plasma Peptidome

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although capillary electrophoresis coupled to mass spectrometry (CE‐MS) holds promise for urinary peptide profiling, only a limited number of studies have used CE‐MS to study plasma peptides. Here we describe the establishment of a workflow, including sample preparation, CE‐MS analysis, data processing and normalization optimized for the ...
