ON FRACTIONAL sm FACTORIAL DESIGNS

SUT Journal of Mathematics, 1999
Summary: The statistical structure of the fraction of symmetrical \(s^m\) factorial designs is investigated in some detail. In this paper, we show that the information matrix of a fractional \(s^m\) factorial design is determined completely by its characteristic vector.

Fractional factorial design

WIREs Computational Statistics, 2009
AbstractFractional factorial designs are among the most important statistical contributions to the efficient exploration of the effects of several controllable factors on a response of interest. Fractional factorials are widely used in experiments in fields as diverse as agriculture, industry, and medical research.

The Efficiencies of Fractional Factorial Designs

Technometrics, 2005
A frequently stated advantage of fractional-factorial (FF) designs over one-factor-at-a-time (1FAT) designs is their high relative efficiency. We study k-factor, 2k-run designs, where k is a power of 2 or is divisible by 4, for which the usually stated relative efficiency is k in favor of the resolution IV FF design over an orthogonal 1FAT design.

Design-Plots for Factorial and Fractional-Factorial Designs

Journal of Quality Technology, 1998
This chapter develops design-plots for viewing the set of run conditions for experiment designs. The emphasis is on factorial and fractional factorial designs but mixture designs nested designs and irregular designs are also presented. The fundamental concept for designs with more than two factors is to place points on a regular grid.

On Two Products of Fractional Factorial Designs

Calcutta Statistical Association Bulletin, 1989
Analysis of direct product (DP) of a number of fractional factorial designs (unblocked) has been presented in brief to show that the estimates of the parameters of the new design can be expressed as a suitable (asterisk) product of the estimates of the parameters of the component designs.
