Limitations and Constraints of Eddy-Current Loss Models for Interior Permanent-Magnet Motors with Fractional-Slot Concentrated Windings

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
This paper analyzes and compares models for predicting average magnet losses in interior permanent-magnet motors with fractional-slot concentrated windings due to harmonics in the armature reaction (assuming sinusoidal phase currents). Particularly, loss

Efficient solution of a wave equation with fractional-order dissipative terms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider a wave equation with fractional-order dissipative terms modeling viscothermal losses on the lateral walls of a duct, namely the Webster-Lokshin model.

A Multipole algorithm for solving a fractional generalization of the helmholtz equation

open access: yesNumerical Methods and Programming (Vychislitel'nye Metody i Programmirovanie), 2021

High-Pressure Modulation of Breathing Kagome Lattice: Cascade of Lifshitz Transitions and Evolution of the Electronic Structure. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
External pressure directly tunes the breathing distortion of the kagome lattice in Fe3Sn2, suppressing it near 15 GPa and reversing it at higher pressures. This structural modulation drives a cascade of Lifshitz transitions, reconstructs the Fermi surface, strengthens electronic correlations and carrier localization, and modifies ultrafast electron ...

On Concentration of Real Solutions for Fractional Helmholtz Equation

open access: yesJournal of Partial Differential Equations
This paper studies the nonlinear fractional Helmholtz equation $(-\Delta)^su-k^2u=Q(x)|u|^{p-2}u,\quad\text{in }\mathbb{R}^N,\,N\geq3,\tag{0.1}$ where $\frac{N}{N+1}<s<\frac{N}{2},\quad\frac{2(N+1)}{N-1}<p<\frac{2N}{N-2s}$ are two real exponents, and the coefficient $Q(x)$ is a bounded continuous, nonnegative function that satisfies the ...

Regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1 by p53‐ΔNp63 crosstalk modulates the DNA damage response and therapeutic efficacy in HNSCC

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) p53 and p63 exert opposite roles on the transcription regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1. Under basal conditions, p53 levels are low and p63 represses NEAT1 expression. Upon genotoxic stress, p53 is rapidly induced, displacing p63 from the NEAT1 promoter leading to NEAT1 transcriptional activation and ...

Numerical simulation of fractional-order two-dimensional Helmholtz equations

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2023
<p>In this paper, we investigate the exact solutions of several fractional-order Helmholtz equations using the homotopy perturbation transform method. We specify sufficient requirements for its convergence and provide error estimations. The homotopy perturbation transform method yields a quickly converging succession of solutions.

Nearby preconditioning experiments for the Helmholtz equation

open access: yes, 2021
This code provides a range of experiments for investigating the effectiveness of 'nearby preconditioning' for the heterogeneous Helmholtz equation. This is the version of the software used in the paper 'Analysis of a Helmholtz preconditioning problem ...

Cryogenic Deformation Behavior of TiAl and Insights Into Embrittlement After High‐Temperature Exposure Combined With Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy of Near Surface Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Near‐surface deuterium enrichment profiles for different microstructural types of TiAl after exposure at 700 °C in a heavy water‐containing environment. The deuterium levels are significantly higher than expected from natural occurrence, indicating that the heavy water dissociated during the exposure treatment and entered the specimens.

Comparative Performance and Partial Load Cycling of Sodium‐Metal Chloride Battery Modules With Mixed‐Metal Fe,Zn and Ni,Fe Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sustainable Na‐(Fe,Zn)Cl2 battery modules deliver discharge energies comparable to state‐of‐the‐art Na‐(Ni,Fe)Cl2 batteries through high active‐material utilization, although with lower power capability. Advanced electrochemical characterization reveals a distinct reaction mechanism and low resistance during Fe dechlorination.
