International Labour Force Participation Rates by Gender: Unit Root or Structural Breaks? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the possibility of unit roots in the presence of endogenously determined multiple structural breaks in the total, female and male labour force participation rates (LFPR) for Australia, Canada and the USA.

Natural Frequencies of Levodopa‐Induced Dyskinesia in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Abnormal involuntary movements, known as dyskinesias, are common complications of levodopa treatment in patients with Parkinson's disease and can significantly impair quality of life. The underlying pathophysiology remains unclear, and current therapeutic options are limited.

Shock Absorbing Prices, a Look at Cattle and Feed [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper explores the time series properties of cattle and feed prices to determine the effect shocks may have on price evolution. Two different unit roots tests are applied to the data and compared and the issue of fractional integration is discussed.

Re‐Purposing Sapropterin (Kuvan) for ACTA2‐Related Multisystemic Smooth Muscle Dysfunction Syndrome: A Translational Mechanistic and First‐In‐Human Therapeutic Report

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multisystemic smooth muscle dysfunction syndrome (MSMDS) is an ultra‐rare, ACTA2‐related disorder characterized by severe cerebrovascular disease, aortic aneurysms, and smooth muscle dysfunction. Using molecular dynamics simulations and in silico drug screening, we identified that sapropterin dihydrochloride (Kuvan) is a candidate capable of ...

The Price of Precision: A Critical Review of Molecular Diagnostics in Glioma, From Guidelines to Global Disparities

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gliomas have undergone a profound redefinition over the past decade, transitioning from morphology‐based entities to biologically coherent diseases defined by molecular alterations. The 2021 WHO Classification of Tumors of the Central Nervous System and its 2022 update formalize this shift, establishing integrated diagnosis as the global ...

On Series Integrals and Continued Fractions

open access: yes, 2003
This article is divided into three sections. In the first section, we present a formula for expanding an arbitrary generalised continued fraction into series. In the second section, we present an integral-series formula which has many applications in the evaluation of integrals. In the third section, we present a sampling type expansion formula.

The Gut–Heart Axis in Systemic Sclerosis: Evidence From a Large Prospective Early Disease Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Cardiac involvement significantly impacts prognosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc), highlighting the need for early risk stratification. Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms are common and often manifest early. Emerging data suggest a link between GI and cardiac manifestations, possibly through shared mechanisms like dysautonomia.
