The Effect of Amino Acids on the Formation of Amorphous Calcium Carbonate Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biomineral formation often proceeds via the assembly of amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) nanoparticles with narrow size distributions. Using in situ SAXS coupled to a stopped‐flow device, we follow synthetic ACC formation with a 10 ms time resolution and show that amino acids narrow the size distribution at low supersaturation, highlighting their key ...

( k , φ ) $(\mathtt{k},\varphi )$ -Hilfer fractional Langevin differential equation having multipoint boundary conditions

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
The primary objective of this manuscript is to investigate the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the Langevin ( k , φ ) $(\mathtt{k},\varphi )$ -Hilfer fractional differential equation of different orders with multipoint nonlocal fractional ...

Fractal physiology and the fractional calculus: a perspective

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2010
This paper presents a restricted overview of Fractal Physiology focusing on the complexity of the human body and the characterization of that complexity through fractal measures and their dynamics, with fractal dynamics being described by the fractional ...

Levy flights and Levy -Schroedinger semigroups

open access: yes, 2009
We analyze two different confining mechanisms for L\'{e}vy flights in the presence of external potentials. One of them is due to a conservative force in the corresponding Langevin equation.

Asymmetry of the Ferroelectric Phase Transition in BaTiO3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Phase transitions are typically assumed to behave identically in forward and reverse. This work shows that in the ferroelectric material barium titanate this is not true: heating drives an abrupt, first‐order jump, while cooling gives a smooth, continuous change.

Qualitative analysis of nonlinear impulse langevin equation with helfer fractional order derivatives

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2022
In this manuscript, a class of impulsive Langevin equation with Hilfer fractional derivatives is considered. Using the techniques of nonlinear functional analysis, we establish appropriate conditions and results to discuss existence, uniqueness and ...

Subordinated diffusion and CTRW asymptotics

open access: yes, 2010
Anomalous transport is usually described either by models of continuous time random walks (CTRW) or, otherwise by fractional Fokker-Planck equations (FFPE).

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Fractional dynamics from the ordinary Langevin equation

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2003
We consider the usual Langevin equation depending on an internal time. This parameter is substituted by a first passage time of a self-similar Markov process. Then the Gaussian process is parent, and the hitting time process is directing. The probability to find the resulting process at the real time is defined by the integral relationship between the ...

From Thin Films to Nanodots: Bottom‐Up Integration of Fe3O4 on Nb:STO for Functional Oxide Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Scalable bottom‐up fabrication of Fe3O4 nanodots on Nb:SrTiO3 using anodic alumina templates enables long‐range ordered arrays with diameters down to 30 nm. STEM highlights the epitaxial growth of Fe3O4 films on Nb:SrTiO3. Complementary polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR) and X‐ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) measurements on continuous films ...
