Fluctuation-driven directed transport in the presence of Levy flights

open access: yes, 2007
Numerical evidence of directed transport driven by symmetric Levy noise in time-independent ratchet potentials in the absence of an external tilting force is presented.

Energy Landscapes in Chemical Reactions and Transport

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Kinetics/dynamics of chemical reactivity and transport of chemical species in a solid are both determined by the energy landscape in which they take place. Discussing common grounds but also distinct differences may help in advancing the understanding in both fields.

Nonlinear Langevin equations and inclusions involving mixed fractional order derivatives and variable coefficient with fractional nonlocal-terminal conditions

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, we discuss the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a new kind of Langevin equation involving Riemann-Liouville as well as Caputo fractional derivatives, and variable coefficient, supplemented with nonlocal-terminal fractional integro-

Fractional Stokes-Boussinesq-Langevin equationand Mittag-Leffler correlation decay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
his paper presents some stationary processes which are solutions of the fractional Stokes-Boussinesq-Langevin equation. These processes have reflection positivity and their correlation functions, which may exhibit the Alder-Wainwright effect or long ...

Subordinated Langevin Equations for Anomalous Diffusion in External Potentials - Biasing and Decoupled Forces

open access: yes, 2009
The role of external forces in systems exhibiting anomalous diffusion is discussed on the basis of the describing Langevin equations. Since there exist different possibilities to include the effect of an external field the concept of {\it biasing} and ...

Plasmakristall‐4 Experiment: 10 Years of Operation in Orbit

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plasmakristall‐4 (PK‐4) is a microgravity complex plasma laboratory operated for 10 years on board the International Space Station. Its main purpose is the particle‐resolved investigation of generic condensed matter phenomena using strongly coupled suspensions of microparticles immersed in low‐pressure gas‐discharge plasmas.

The Fractional Langevin Equation: Brownian Motion Revisited

open access: yes, 2008
We have revisited the Brownian motion on the basis of the fractional Langevin equation which turns out to be a particular case of the generalized Langevin equation introduced by Kubo on 1966. The importance of our approach is to model the Brownian motion more realistically than the usual one based on the classical Langevin equation, in that it takes ...

Spider Silk Inspired Shape Adaptive and Heat Conductive Thermal Interface Materials

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
Inspiring by the architecture of spider silk, a semicrystalline PVDF polymer emerges selective crystallization by dipole polarization of amorphous chains while maintaining crystalline domains with exceptional thermal conductance. This precisely orchestrated hierarchical architecture optimizes thermal conductance by efficient phonon transmission along C–

Generalized Elastic Model yields Fractional Langevin Equation

open access: yes, 2012
Starting from a generalized elastic model which accounts for the stochastic motion of several physical systems such as membranes, (semi)flexible polymers and fluctuating interfaces among others, we derive the fractional Langevin equation (FLE) for a probe particle in such systems, in the case of thermal initial conditions.
