Fractional time series modelling

Biometrika, 1986
Aspects of model building using fractionally differenced autoregressive-moving average processes are discussed. An algorithm for approximate maximum likelihood estimation is outlined and the large-sample distribution of the maximum likelihood estimates is derived.

A fractional order friction model

ISA Transactions, 2023
A new dynamic model for friction is proposed based on the commonality between frictional order dynamics and friction behavior. The model can achieve accurate modeling both in the sliding and the pre-sliding region with fewer parameters. Simulation results of the FOFM are illustrated with the parameters identification using the particle swarm ...

Two compartmental fractional derivative model with general fractional derivative

Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, 2022
This study presents a new two compartmental model with, recently defined General fractional derivative. We review that concept of General fractional derivative and use the kernel function that generalizes the classical Caputo derivative in a mathematically consistent way.

Fractional Order Models

2015
In a letter to L’Hospital in 1695, Leibniz raised the possibility of generalizing the operation of differentiation to non-integer orders and L’Hospital asked what would be the result of half-differentiating a variable. Leibniz in an open letter dated September 30, 1695 replied “It leads to a paradox, from which 1 day useful consequences will be drawn”.

New model of fractional spin

Physical Review Letters, 1989
A line-charge--neutron composite is proposed as a new model for fractional spin. Considering time-varying line-charge configurations, the kinetic angular momentum is a constant of motion while the canonical angular momentum is not. This result is contrary to the case with magnetic flux tubes.

Modelling One-Dimensional Fractional Impact Using Basic Fractional Viscoelastic Models

Volume 6: 12th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control, 2016
Viscoelastic materials can be mathematically represented using integer- or order models. It has been shown in different studies that modeling a viscoelastic material usually requires an enormous number of parameters. Fractional viscoelastic models have been shown to be advantageous over integer viscoelastic models in the representation of viscoelastic ...
