FRACTIONAL RELAXATION OF DISTRIBUTED ORDER
Complexus Mundi, 2006The first-order differential equation of exponential relaxation can be generalized by replacing the time-derivative by a fractional derivative of Caputo type, more generally by an integral over such fractional derivatives, the order of differentiation being the variable of integration.

Neural-Network-Based Adaptive DSC Design for Switched Fractional-Order Nonlinear Systems
IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2020Due to the particularity of the fractional-order derivative definition, the fractional-order control design is more complicated and difficult than the integer-order control design, and it has more practical significance.

A Novel Fractional Order Model for State of Charge Estimation in Lithium Ion Batteries
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2019Battery models are the cornerstone to battery state of charge (SOC) estimation and battery management systems in electric vehicles. This paper proposes a novel fractional-order model for a battery, which considers both Butler–Volmer equation and ...

Variable Order and Distributed Order Fractional Operators
Nonlinear Dynamics, 2002Many physical processes appear to exhibit fractional order behaviour that may vary with time or space. The continuum of order in the fractional calculus allows the order of the fractional operator to be considered as a variable. The paper develops the concept of variable and distributed order fractional operators.

Variable Order Fractional Controllers
Asian Journal of Control, 2012AbstractThis paper addresses variable order fractional controllers. Four situations where variable order fractional controllers may be used to cope with time‐varying plants are used as examples. In all cases a constant phase margin is sought, thus resulting in a constant overshoot in step responses, which is otherwise unattainable.
