Fractional free space, fractional lenses, and fractional imaging systems [PDF]
Continuum extensions of common dual pairs of operators are presented and consolidated, based on the fractional Fourier transform. In particular, the fractional chirp multiplication, fractional chirp convolution, and fractional scaling operators are defined and expressed in terms of their common nonfractional special cases, revealing precisely how they ...

Fractional vs. Ordinary Control Systems: What Does the Fractional Derivative Provide?
The concept of a fractional derivative is not at all intuitive, starting with not having a clear geometrical interpretation. Many different definitions have appeared, to the point that the need for order has arisen in the field.

Fractional-hyperbolic systems [PDF]
We describe a class of evolution systems of linear partial differential equations with the Caputo-Dzhrbashyan fractional derivative of order $α\in (0,1)$ in the time variable $t$ and the first order derivatives in spatial variables $x=(x_1,...,x_n)$, which can be considered as a fractional analogue of the class of hyperbolic systems.

On Passivity of Fractional Order Systems [PDF]
We generalize notions of passivity and dissipativity to fractional order systems. Similar to integer order systems, we show that the proposed definitions generate analogous stability and compositionality properties for fractional order systems as well.

Stability of Fractional Order Systems [PDF]
The theory and applications of fractional calculus (FC) had a considerable progress during the last years. Dynamical systems and control are one of the most active areas, and several authors focused on the stability of fractional order systems. Nevertheless, due to the multitude of efforts in a short period of time, contributions are scattered along ...

Analysis of Fractional Dynamic Systems [PDF]
Due to the extensive applications of fractional differential equations (FDEs) in engineering and science, research in this area has grown significantly. Fractional Dynamic Systems are described by FDEs, and this special issue consists of 8 original articles covering various aspects of FDEs and their applications written by prominent researchers in the ...

Fractional-Parabolic Systems [PDF]
We develop a theory of the Cauchy problem for linear evolution systems of partial differential equations with the Caputo-Dzrbashyan fractional derivative in the time variable $t$. The class of systems considered in the paper is a fractional extension of the class of systems of the first order in $t$ satisfying the uniform strong parabolicity condition.

Control Techniques for a Class of Fractional Order Systems
The paper discusses several control techniques for a class of systems described by fractional order equations. The paper presents the unit frequency criteria that ensure the closed loop control for: Fractional Order Linear Systems, Fractional Order ...
