Fatigue life of high strength steel for cold forming

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2017
The article presents the results of fatigue tests carried out on STRENX-type high-strength cold forming steel. For high-cycle fatigue tests carried out using low cycle loading frequencies of around 30 Hz, a ROTOFLEX machine was used. For ultra high-cycle

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 17, 9 September 2026.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Fractography of Bone Using Reconstructed Computed Tomography (CT) Scans: A Case Report Series

open access: yes, 2022
Fractography has been shown to be applicable to forensic assessments of skeletal trauma by observing the presence and orientation of fracture surface features, which reveal information about the direction of crack propagation.

Relationship between microstructure and fracture types in a UNS S32205 duplex stainless steel

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2013
Duplex stainless steels are susceptible to the formation of sigma phase at high temperature which could potentially be responsible for catastrophic service failure of components.

Multiscale Experimental Techniques for Evaluating Hydrogen Resistance in Structural Alloys for Energy Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Hydrogen embrittlement proceeds through three distinct mechanisms: localized plasticity, decohesion, and hydride formation, each demanding different experimental evidence across atomic to macroscopic scales. This review maps experimental techniques to their operative mechanism and proposes a multiscale, mechanism‐informed framework linking technique ...

Fractography of Long Bones with High-Velocity Projectile Trauma

open access: yes, 2020
Previous studies of bone fractography have examined only cases of blunt trauma. Here we assess whether fracture surface features are also found on bones subjected to high-velocity projectile trauma. Civil War–era long bones were assessed for the presence

Effects of Annealing Temperature on Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Properties in Cold-Rolled High-Nitrogen Austenitic Steel

open access: yesMetals
High-nitrogen austenitic steel (HNS) cold-rolled with a reduction rate of 25% was subjected to an investigation of the effect of annealing temperature on microstructural evolution, tensile properties and the variation in fracture surface morphology.

Influence of Strain Rate and Temperature on the Mechanical Behaviour of Armour Steels

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 341-346, September 2026.
Abstract Armour steels are high‐strength alloys widely used in vehicles and protective structures due to their outstanding ballistic resistance. This work investigates the tensile behaviour of different Armox steels under the combined effects of high strain rate and elevated temperature.

Optimization of Material Density and Strength in Super Duplex 2507 Stainless Steel via Selective Laser Melting: CCD‐PSO‐DFA Approach

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Systematic framework has been established to model, analyze, and optimize the properties of SLM parts. The major results drawn from the proposed work: CCD‐based modeling for density and UTS of SLM‐fabricated SDSS 2507. Scan speed showed the highest influence on density and tensile strength.
