High-energy Pediatric Pelvic and Acetabular Fractures
Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 2014Pediatric pelvic and acetabular fractures are rare injuries. They are almost always the result of a high-energy injury mechanism. A full trauma protocol should be instituted, having a high index of suspicion for associated life-threatening injuries. In the past, it was recommended that almost all of these injuries be treated nonoperatively.

Size independent fracture energy from fracture energy release rate in plain concrete beams
Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 2013Size independent fracture energy and size effect on fracture energy are the key concerns for characterization of concrete fracture. Although there have been inconsistencies in results, a consensual fact is that the fracture energy from a large specimen is size independent.

Threshold fracture energies for elastomers
Journal of Polymer Science: Polymer Physics Edition, 1975AbstractFracture energies have been measured for two types of polybutadiene elastomer, crosslinked to various extents and torn under various conditions. Threshold values, ranging from 40 to 80 jm−2, were observed for samples torn at extremely low rates of tearing, at high temperatures, and in the swollen state. These values were found to be independent
