A Lightweight, 3D‐Printable, Low‐Cost, “One‐Click” Dorsal Skin Window for High‐Quality Long‐Term Multimodal Subcutaneous Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative, lightweight 3D‐printed skinfold chamber system is presented for long‐term intravital imaging. This affordable, biocompatible platform simplifies surgical implantation and allows high‐resolution, multimodal visualization of the tumor microenvironment for up to four weeks.

Angular stable plate fixation provides favorable biomechanical stability in simulated T-shaped acetabular fractures: a biomechanical study

open access: yesActa Orthopaedica
Background and purpose: The treatment of acetabular fractures remains technically demanding. In the case of reduced bone quality or fracture morphology reducing the amount of bone available for fixation, locking plates should provide considerable ...

Fixation of basicervical and related fractures [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Orthopaedics, 2009
We prospectively studied 42 patients in order to identify a group of proximal femoral fractures having liability for axial and rotational instability, and to present results of their fixation using the dynamic hip screw (DHS) with derotation screw (DRS). At 12 months postoperatively, patients were functionally evaluated and the radiological outcome was

In Vivo Monitoring of Thrombo‐Inflammatory Biomarkers via Molecularly Imprinted Polymer‐Integrated Hydrogel Microneedles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A wearable electrochemical microneedle patch integrates Prussian Blue redox transduction with molecularly imprinted polymer recognition for reagent‐free sampling and detection of thrombo‐inflammatory biomarkers in dermal interstitial fluid. The platform tracks thrombin and inflammatory cytokines with sensitive in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo performance,

Functional Outcome of Bimalleolar Ankle Fractures – A Prospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology
Background: Ankle fracture ranks second among lower limb fractures, accounting for about 10% of all fractures. It occurs in about 137 per 1 lakh people each year.

Additive Manufacturing of Ordered Polymer Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new 3D printing strategy, Polymerization‐Induced Arrangement of Nanostructures with Order‐tunability (PIANO), enables the formation of ordered nanostructures in polymer materials by enhancing chain mobility during photopolymerization, overcoming the kinetic arrest that leads to disordered morphologies in the conventional Polymerization‐Induced ...

E. coli Extracellular Matrix: A Tunable Composite With Hierarchical Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The complex composite‐like mechanical behavior of E. coli biofilm matrix is the result of a synergic contribution of the rigid curli and swelling pEtN‐cellulose, and emerges from specific ratio and assembly conditions. The interactions between the two fibers govern biofilm hydration and characteristic wrinkling patterns, providing crucial insights for ...

Highly Entangled Bottlebrush Polymer Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bottlebrush polymers are difficult to entangle, enabling ultrasoft yet brittle networks. We report highly entangled bottlebrush elastomers that remain ultrasoft (∼1 kPa) yet stretch to ∼1800% and exhibit exceptional fatigue resistance. Their intrinsic fatigue strength—fatigue threshold normalized by modulus—surpasses that of highly entangled linear ...

Design of a porous biodegradable internal fixation for the treatment of pauwels type III femoral neck fractures

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
Prolonged internal fixation in the femur can cause issues like osteosclerosis and stress masking, which hinder fracture recovery. AZ31b magnesium alloy has already been widely investigated and shown to be biocompatible and biodegradable.
