Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

A Numerical Model for Pressure Analysis of a Well in Unconventional Fractured Reservoirs

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Fractured reservoirs are highly heterogeneous in both matrix and fracture properties, which results in significant variations in well production.

Seismic Modeling of Fractured Reservoirs

open access: yes69th EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2007, 2007
G025 Seismic Modeling of Fractured Reservoirs M.H. Worthington* (Oxford University) SUMMARY A methodology is proposed to test whether observed seismic anisotropy attributes are likely to have resulted from fracture models derived from well data. Two dimensional fracture models are constructed using an approach developed by Borgos et al. (2000).

A Novel Modified Petroresin Particle (MPRP) With Enhanced Oil–Water Selectivity for Cold Production in Heavy Oil Reservoirs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel oil–water selective conformance control agent, MPRP, is prepared via hydrophilic grafting and mechanical granulation. MPRP uniformly disperses in water, cohesively expands upon aging, and readily dissolves in the oil phase. During conformance control, it selectively aggregates in water channeling pathways to form effective plugs without ...

A Solidified Controllable Resin System Suitable for Fracture Cavity Formation Plugging and Its Performance Characterization

open access: yesGels
Thermosetting resins have good temperature resistance and high strength and have been widely used as plugging agents in oil fields. However, the current resin materials have high costs, and unmodified thermosetting resins are brittle or have deteriorated

Experimental study of gas–oil relative permeability curves at immiscible/near miscible gas injection in highly naturally fractured reservoir

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2017
The main aim of this work is to investigate gas–oil relative permeability curves as the main flow function in different gas injection scenarios, immiscible and near miscible in case of highly fractured reservoirs.

Theoretical Study and Application of Rate Transient Analysis on Complex Fractured-Caved Carbonate Reservoirs

open access: yesGeofluids, 2021
Carbonate reservoirs are mainly fractured-caved reservoirs with very well-developed dissolved pores, fractures, and caves. They have strong heterogeneity with various types of reservoir pore spaces.

Mineral Deposition From Liquid Precursors Triggered by Complementary Polyelectrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte additives can delay or prevent crystal nucleation in supersaturated solutions of insoluble mineral salts such as calcium carbonate. This work reports that adding a second, oppositely‐charged polyelectrolyte leads to immediate mineral crystallization from such metastable solutions.

The Heinemann-Mittermeir Generalized Shape Factor and Its Practical Relevance

open access: yesJournal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2014
Fifty years ago Warren and Root have introduced the shape factor. This fundamental parameter for modeling of naturally fractured reservoirs has been discussed stormily ever since.

Balancing Hydrophobicity and Hydrophilicity: Dual Filler‐Engineered Proton Exchange Membranes for Durable, High‐Power Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polarity‐matched Zr–MOFs program Nafion's nanoscale morphology during solution casting. Hydrophilic UiO‐66 preserves hydrated pathways, while hydrophobic UiO‐67 increases the proton hopping sites by densifying ionic clusters. Combining both fillers yields a membrane that delivers 176 mS cm−1 conductivity, reaches 1.46 W cm−2 under 200 kPa, and triples ...
