Computational studies on fragmentation of brittle materials [PDF]
We study dynamic fragmentation of metallic structures using the cracking particles method with obscuration zone. The cracking particles method is an efficient meshfree method for modeling dynamic fracture. Fracture is modeled by a set of crack segments. The cracking particles method does not require the representation of the crack topology.

Current Computer Aided-Drug Design, 2007Fragment based screening has become a valuable tool to complement traditional lead finding methods like high throughput screening in drug discovery. Fragments are low molecular mass compounds and are usually screened using high sensitivity biophysical methods which are suitable for the detection of weakly binding ligands.
