Prefix-based Labeling Annotation for Effective XML Fragmentation [PDF]
XML is gradually employed as a standard of data exchange in web environment since its inception in the 90s until present. It serves as a data exchange between systems and other applications. Meanwhile the data volume has grown substantially in the web and thus effective methods of storing and retrieving these data is essential.

Neutronless $^{10}$be-Accompanied Ternary Fission of $^{252}$Cf} [PDF]
A new type of decay corresponding to the neutronless $^{10}$Be-accompanied fragmentation of $^{252}$Cf is studied. We employ a cluster model similar to the model used for the description of cluster radioactivity. No preformation factors were considered.

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

Craig Interpolation for Guarded Fragments [PDF]
We show that the guarded-negation fragment (GNFO) is, in a precise sense, the smallest extension of the guarded fragment (GFO) with Craig interpolation. In contrast, %we show that the smallest extension of the two-variable fragment (FO2) with Craig interpolation is full first-order logic.

A PSPACE-complete first-order fragment of computability logic [PDF]
In a recently launched research program for developing logic as a formal theory of (interactive) computability, several very interesting logics have been introduced and axiomatized. These fragments of the larger Computability Logic aim not only to describe what can be computed, but also provide a mechanism for extracting computational algorithms from ...

Glutaredoxin (Grx) 3 proteins contain a thioredoxin domain and one to three class II Grx domains. These proteins play a crucial role in iron homeostasis in eukaryotic cells. In human Grx3, at least one of the two Grx domains, together with the thioredoxin domain, is essential for its function in iron metabolism.

CONTROL OF FRAGMENTATION BY BLASTING
The degree of fragmentation influences the economy of the excavation operations. Characteristics of blasted rock such as fragment size, volume and mass are fundamental variables effecting the economics of a mining operation and are in effect the basis ...
