Fragmentation Pathways of Lithiated Hexose Monosaccharides
Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, 2018We characterize the primary fragmentation reactions of three isomeric lithiated D-hexose sugars (glucose, galactose, and mannose) utilizing tandem mass spectrometry, regiospecific labeling, and theory. We provide evidence that these three isomers populate similar fragmentation pathways to produce the abundant cross-ring cleavage peaks (0,2A1 and 0,3A1).

The effects of drinking water service fragmentation on drought-related water security
Science, 2020Drought is a critical stressor that contributes to water insecurity. In the United States, an important pathway by which drought affects households’ access to clean, reliable drinking water for basic needs is through the organization and activities of ...

Crisis, 2006
Using qualitative methods, this study examined how, and under what circumstances, suicidal men used mental health services. In particular, the analyses focused on fragmented pathways to care. Fifteen men with a history of suicidal and aggressive behaviors and a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder and/or antisocial personality disorder ...

Isomerization and fragmentation pathways of 1,2‐azaborine
Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2015The generation of 1,2‐azaborine (4), the BN‐analogue of ortho‐benzyne, was recently achieved by elimination of tert‐butyldimethylchlorosilane under the conditions of flash vacuum pyrolysis. The present investigation identifies by computational means pathways for the thermal isomerization and fragmentation of 1,2‐azaborine.

Fragmentation Pathways during Maillard-Induced Carbohydrate Degradation
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2013The Maillard reaction network with focus on the chemistry of dicarbonyl structures causes considerable interest of research groups in food chemistry and medical science, respectively. Dicarbonyl compounds are well established as the central intermediates in the nonenzymatic browning reaction and have been verified to be responsible for advanced ...

Fragmentation Pathways in the Uracil Radical Cation
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012We investigate pathways for fragmentation in the uracil radical cation using ab initio electronic structure calculations. We focus on the main fragments produced in pump-probe dissociative ionization experiments. These are fragments with mass to charge ratios (m/z) of 69, 28, 41, and 42.

Sequence-Scrambling Fragmentation Pathways of Protonated Peptides
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2008The gas-phase structures and fragmentation pathways of the N-terminal b and a fragments of YAGFL-NH(2), AGLFY-NH(2), GFLYA-NH(2), FLYAG-NH(2), and LYAGF-NH(2) were investigated using collision-induced dissociation (CID) and detailed molecular mechanics and density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

The cysteine radical cation: structures and fragmentation pathways
Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2008A theoretical study on the structures, relative energies, isomerization reactions and fragmentation pathways of the cysteine radical cation, [NH(2)CH(CH(2)SH)COOH].+, is reported. Hybrid density functional theory (B3LYP) has been used in conjunction with the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set.
