Fragment size distribution statistics in dynamic fragmentation of laser shock-loaded tin
This work investigates the geometric statistics method to characterize the size distribution of tin fragments produced in the laser shock-loaded dynamic fragmentation process.

Political-military crisis and forest fragmentation in the Mont Péko national Park in Côte d'Ivoire
In Côte d'Ivoire, the political-military crisis from 2002 to 2011 caused an intensification of human pressure on certain protected areas. This increased pressure has led to significant deforestation in the Mont Péko national Park.

Measurements of the longitudinal spin transfer, $D_{LL}$, and the transverse spin transfer, $D_{TT}$, of the $\Lambda(\bar{\Lambda}$) hyperon in polarized $p$+$p$ collisions are expected to be sensitive to the helicity distribution and transversity ...

Three-dimensional Statistical Jet Fragmentation [PDF]
We reproduce the distribution of the longitudinal and transverse components of momenta of charged hadrons stemming from jets created in proton-proton collisions at s^1/2 = 7 TeV by a statistical fragmentation model. Our hadronization model is based on microcanonical statistics and negative binomial multiplicity fluctuations.

Cheminformatics approach to exploring and modeling trait-associated metabolite profiles
Developing predictive and transparent approaches to the analysis of metabolite profiles across patient cohorts is of critical importance for understanding the events that trigger or modulate traits of interest (e.g., disease progression, drug metabolism,

A statistical theory of fragmentation processes [PDF]
Abstract The goal of the work reviewed here is a theory of material behavior accounting for the average deformation that results from the opening, shear, growth and coalescence of an ensemble of microcracks. A concomitant is the calculation of permeability from crack structure. The first part of this paper summarizes previous developments.
