Tracking Small Animals in Complex Landscapes: A Comparison of Localisation Workflows for Automated Radio Telemetry Systems. [PDF]
Automated radio telemetry grids provide the possibility of studying movement of small animals at very fine spatial scales, but the influence of rugged terrains and vegetation on localisation error curtails the applicability of this technology. In this study, we present a comparative workflow to reduce error and show how selecting higher radio signal ...

Pollination ecology in the tropical Andes: moving towards a cross-scale approach. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Plant–pollinator interactions structure ecological communities and represent a key component of ecosystem functioning. Pollination networks are expected to be more diverse and specialised in the tropics, but pollination ecology in these regions has been understudied in comparison to other areas.

Tropical Land-Use Change Disrupts Zeta-Diversity Across Taxa. [PDF]
We studied birds, dung beetles, and orchids across natural and human‐transformed habitats in the Colombian Andes to understand how land‐use change affects biodiversity. We found that deforestation simplifies ecological communities and reduces both rare and widespread species, especially orchids.

Intraspecific variation in pollination ecology due to altitudinal environmental heterogeneity. [PDF]
Plant populations in different eco‐regions differed in pollination ecology strategies. These population differences are not explained by differences in pollinator assembly, but by environmental heterogeneity. Abstract Plant‐pollinator interactions are constrained by floral traits and available pollinators, both of which can vary across environmental ...

Abstract Aim The Andean superpáramo ecosystem, above c. 4200 m a.s.l., currently forms an archipelago of isolated ‘sky islands’ which provides a unique setting to study biogeography. However, there is still a poor understanding of how past geological events, together with past climatic changes, have shaped the distribution of life in this ecosystem ...

Costeños in the Páramo: A warm breath to a cold reality
The fundamental purpose of this action research was to generate axiological and ecological conceptual changes in the IED Mother Marcelina students from the conservation and care of frailejones as a source of water wealth.
