Congruence frames of frames and $$-frames
2022We describe the congruence lattices of frames and $ $-frames. We look at the role that congruence biframes play in the category of strictly zero-dimensional biframes and discuss some reflections and coreflections of congruence frames.

We present a computationally efficient, data-driven procedure for constructing linear isometric embeddings of high-dimensional data (data frames) into spaces of smooth images, and thereby obtain tight frame dictionaries for the data space using tight frame dictionaries for the image space (“framed frames” – wavelets, curvelets, shearlets, etc ...

Frames, frames, and more frames
The Arithmetic Teacher, 1963Few deny that the mathcmatirs curriculum of the elementary school needed revision. However, the rush to modernize this curriculum has given rise to some rather questionable practices. Experimental programs claim that the changes to be made should result in good, teachable mathematics. One could hardly argue with this objective.

The frame problem is widely reputed among philosophers to be one of the deepest and most difficult problems of cognitive science. This paper discusses three recent attempts to display this problem: Dennett’s problem of ignoring obviously irrelevant knowledge, Haugeland’s problem of efficiently keeping track of salient side effects, and Fodor’s problem ...

Through a study of TIE practice, framing became a central concept, which in turn provided a closer reading of primary texts in the field.1 Drama concepts that seem simple and clear within the English language might easily become strange and unclear seen from a different language perspective.
