Motion-Aware Video Frame Interpolation

open access: yesNeural Networks
Video frame interpolation methodologies endeavor to create novel frames betwixt extant ones, with the intent of augmenting the video's frame frequency. However, current methods are prone to image blurring and spurious artifacts in challenging scenarios involving occlusions and discontinuous motion.

Meta-Interpolation: Time-Arbitrary Frame Interpolation via Dual Meta-Learning

open access: yes2022 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2022
Existing video frame interpolation methods can only interpolate the frame at a given intermediate time-step, e.g. 1/2. In this paper, we aim to explore a more generalized kind of video frame interpolation, that at an arbitrary time-step. To this end, we consider processing different time-steps with adaptively generated convolutional kernels in a ...

The Electromagnetic Gauge Field Interpolation between the Instant Form and the Front Form of the Hamiltonian Dynamics

open access: yes, 2014
We present the electromagnetic gauge field interpolation between the instant form and the front form of the relativistic Hamiltonian dynamics and extend our interpolation of the scattering amplitude presented in the simple scalar field theory to the case

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Enhanced spatial error concealment with directional entropy based interpolation switching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper describes a spatial error concealment method that uses edge related information for concealing missing macroblocks in a way that not only preserves existing edges but also avoids introducing new strong ones.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Arbitrary Timestep Video Frame Interpolation with Time-Dependent Decoding

open access: yesMathematics
Given an observed low frame rate video, video frame interpolation (VFI) aims to generate a high frame rate video, which has smooth video frames with higher frames per second (FPS).

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...
