Assistant without Master? Some Conceptual Implications of Assistive Robotics in Health Care

open access: yesTechnologies, 2018
The subject of “technical assistants” in inpatient care is currently being widely discussed in scientific and public circles. In many cases, though, it has become apparent that the umbrella term “assistive technologies”, also in the context of robotics ...

How to Complete the Description of Physical Reality by Non-local Hidden Variables? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
Which non-local hidden variables could complement the description of physical reality? The present model of extended Newtonian dynamics (MEND) is generalize but not alternative to Newtonian Dynamics because its extended Newtonian Dynamics to arbitrary reference frames. It Is Physics of Arbitrary Reference Frames.

Realizing fully reference-frame-independent quantum key distribution by exploiting quantum discord [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Reference-frame-independent quantum key distribution was proposed to generate a string of secret keys without a shared reference frame. Based on the Bloch sphere, however, the security analysis in previous methods is only independent on azimuthal angle, while a reference frame is determined by both polar angle and azimuthal angle. Here, we propose a 3 \

CRISPR targeting of FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation reduces malignant phenotype in granulosa tumor cells and identifies anti‐tumoral compounds

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation drives granulosa cell tumors. Using CRISPR technology, we selectively corrected this mutation, reducing malignancy and increasing sensitivity to dasatinib and ketoconazole. Transcriptomic changes revealed potential therapeutic targets, demonstrating CRISPR's promise for treating this rare ovarian cancer.

Informational Reinterpretation of the Mechanics Notions and Laws

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
The informational re-interpretation of the basic laws of the mechanics exploiting the Landauer principle is suggested. When a physical body is in rest or it moves rectilinearly with the constant speed, zero information is transferred; thus, the ...

Inner space: Reference frames [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2002
How are we aware of our surroundings? Somehow, from a pair of tiny, two-dimensional pictures of the visual world – provided by our retinas – our brains are able to render the world as it is, accurately depicting the locations of both a distant mountain range and the camera we are pointing at it.

Quantum meronomic frames [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Composite quantum systems can be decomposed into subsystems in many different inequivalent ways. We call a particular decomposition a meronomic reference frame for the system. We apply the ideas of quantum reference frames to characterize meronomic frames, identify tasks that require such frames to accomplish, and show how asymmetric quantum states can

Whole‐genome sequencing of cell‐free DNA reveals DNA of tumor origin in plasma from patients with colorectal adenomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐informed whole‐genome sequencing (MRD‐EDGESNV) was applied to detect circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with colorectal adenomas. Using a 95% specificity threshold, established from stage III colorectal cancer patients, ctDNA was detected in 50% of symptomatic and 25% of asymptomatic adenoma cases with median tumor fractions of 5.9 × 10−5 ...
