Quantum mechanics with respect to different reference frames [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Math. Phys. v.48 (2007) 082104, 2007
Geometric (Schrodinger) quantization of nonrelativistic mechanics with respect to different reference frames is considered. In classical nonrelativistic mechanics, a reference frame is represented by a connection on a configuration space fibered over a time axis. Under quantization, it yields a connection on the quantum algebra of Schrodinger operators.

Evaluation of an EPID in vivo monitoring system using local and external independent audit measurements

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose The aim of this work was to evaluate the SunCHECK PerFRACTION, the software for in vivo monitoring using EPID images. Materials/Methods First, the PerFRACTION ability to detect errors was investigated simulating two situations: (1) variation of LINAC output and (2) variation of the phantom thickness.

The Biopsychosocial Model: Application to Occupational Therapy Practice

open access: yesOpen Journal of Occupational Therapy, 2018
Despite the call for the profession to embrace a more integrated and holistic approach to practice, therapists may be faced with practical challenges, including issues relating to client caseloads, productivity demands, scheduling, entrenched practices ...

Accuracy of patient dose estimation in cone beam computed tomography in breast irradiation by size‐specific dose estimates with position correction

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract This study aims to investigate the effects of the position correction of size‐specific dose estimates (SSDE) on patient dose estimation in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The relationship between the phantom position and absorbed dose in the right breast was studied using optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters and a simulated human

Compared to what? Effects of social and temporal comparison standards of feedback in an e-learning context

open access: yesInternational Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education, 2022
Performance evaluation is based on comparison standards. Results can either be contrasted to former results (temporal comparison) or results of others (social comparison). Existing literature analyzed potential effects of teachers’ stable preferences for

Degradation of a quantum reference frame

open access: yes, 2006
We investigate the degradation of reference frames, treated as dynamical quantum systems, and quantify their longevity as a resource for performing tasks in quantum information processing. We adopt an operational measure of a reference frame's longevity,

The reference-frame independence of quantum probabilities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We investigate the transformation rule of a single particle wave-function under a change of reference frame. A postulate is raised, and some fundamental aspects regarding the reference-frame independence of quantum probabilities are explored.

The group structure of dynamical transformations between quantum reference frames [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum 5, 470 (2021), 2020
Recently, it was shown that when reference frames are associated to quantum systems, the transformation laws between such quantum reference frames need to be modified to take into account the quantum and dynamical features of the reference frames. This led to a relational description of the phase space variables of the quantum system of which the ...

Jerk and Hyperjerk in a Rotating Frame of Reference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Jerk is the derivative of acceleration with respect to time and then it is the third order derivative of the position vector. Hyperjerks are the n-th order derivatives with n>3.
