Interplay of Orbital Overlap and Exciton Coupling in the Optical Properties of Adamantylethynyl-Substituted Pyrene Molecular Crystals. [PDF]
ChemistrySterically shielded adamantylethynyl‐substituted pyrenes form quasi‐one‐dimensional π‐stacks that enable direct quantification of solution‐to‐crystal spectral shifts. The optical response is dominated by band dispersion arising from frontier crystal orbitals, while excitonic contributions are secondary.
