ABSTRACT Background Secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) is an inflammatory mediator linked to acute chest syndrome (ACS) in sickle cell disease (SCD), a serious complication that can develop during an acute vaso‐occlusive pain episode (VOE). Plasma sPLA2 levels have been proposed as a potential biomarker for predicting ACS onset.

Affine Anosov Diffeomorphims of Affine Manifolds

We show that a compact affine manifold endowed with an affine Anosov transformation is finitely covered by a complete affine nilmanifold. This is a partial answer of a conjecture of Franks for affine manifolds.

The importance of inspection in clinical cardiology: Frank's sign

The Frank's sign (FS) is a diagonal earlobe crease running from the tragus to the edge of the auricle. In this case, we describe a 71 years‐old male patient with FS who presented to the emergency department complaining of epigastric pain.
