Rh‐Catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] Cycloaddition of Linked Bis(Diynes) Ar‐C≡C‐C≡C‐(CH2)3‐C≡C‐C≡C‐Ar With Quinones: Synthesis and Photophysical Properties of Bis(Arylethynyl)‐Naphthoquinones and Anthraquinones

We report the synthesis bis(arylethynyl)naphtho‐ and anthraquinones via Rh(I)‐catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition reactions. The substrate scope of both quinones and linked bis‐diynes was explored. Microwave irradiation remarkably enhanced yields.

Distinct Ligand‐ and Metal‐Centered Phosphorescence in a Terbium Carbazolyl Complex

Terbium and lanthanum carbazolide complexes show two distinct modes of luminescence: Strongly temperature‐dependent narrow‐line terbium emission could be induced. In addition, both the terbium and the lanthanum complexes show broad‐line interligand emission processes with excited states of microsecond life‐time.

Highly Potent Fluorogenic Ligands for Triplex DNA: 5‐Substituted 2‐(Naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐Chromen‐4‐Ones

Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
5‐Substituted 2‐(naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐chromen‐4‐ones are reported as a novel class of highly potent and selective triplex DNA ligands. These ligands induce triplex formation at submicromolar concentrations and inhibit enzymatic activity via ligand‐mediated triplex formation.

Asymptotic independence in more than two dimensions and its implications on risk management

Abstract In extreme value theory, the presence of asymptotic independence signifies that joint extreme events across multiple variables are unlikely. Although well understood in a bivariate context, the concept remains relatively unexplored when addressing the nuances of simultaneous occurrence of extremes in higher dimensions.
