Bregman Wave Distribution Function Method
Abstract This study proposes a wave distribution function (WDF) estimation method based on minimizing the Bregman divergence in the function space. The proposed method is entirely data‐driven and requires no hyperparameter tuning during the estimation process. It can be regarded as an extension of the maximum entropy method.

On the Fredholm determinant of a piecewise linear transformation
The author considers a piecewise linear map F of a bounded interval into itself and studies the Perron-Frobenius operator P of F restricted on the space of functions with bounded variation. He introduces a matrix \(\Phi\) (z) describing the spectrum of P and computes the zeta-function for F in terms of \(\Phi\) (z).

Abstract Previous research has reported mental health disparities between truant and non‐truant adolescents. However, it remains unclear how social support is associated with mental health outcomes across different levels of truancy. We investigate whether social support has similar mental health benefits for all truant adolescents or whether it plays ...

A general theory of inverse welfare functions
This paper develops a general theory to recover the inverse welfare function that rationalizes a given tax schedule as optimal. Our theory allows for complex environments including the presence of multidimensional tax schedules, bunching/jumping behavior, optimization frictions, general equilibrium effects, and externalities.

The One Dimensional Focusing Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation and Their Regular Solutions
We consider the classical one-dimensional focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS). We give a brief overview of the techniques used to solve it since its formulation. Then we present various results obtained by the author in recent years.

Coulomb branch algebras via symplectic cohomology
Abstract Let (M¯,ω)$(\bar{M}, \omega)$ be a compact symplectic manifold with convex boundary and c1(TM¯)=0$c_1(T\bar{M})=0$. Suppose that (M¯,ω)$(\bar{M}, \omega)$ is equipped with a convex Hamiltonian G$G$‐action for some connected, compact Lie group G$G$.

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Analytical and numerical routes to strong coupling in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 SCFTs
We consider the N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 quiver gauge theory arising from a ℤ M orbifold of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 Super Yang-Mills theory. Over the years, exploiting supersymmetric localization, exact expressions for several observables have been ...
