Homeomorphisms and Fredholm theory for perturbations of nonlinear Fredholm maps of index zero with applications

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2009
We develop a nonlinear Fredholm alternative theory involving k-ball and k-set perturbations of general homeomorphisms and of homeomorphisms that are nonlinear Fredholm maps of index zero.

Solution, extensions and applications of the Schauder's 54th problem in Scottish book [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Moravica, 2016
This paper presents the Axiom of Infinite Choice: Given any set P, there exist at least countable choice functions or there exist at least finite choice functions. The author continues herein with the further study of two papers of the Axiom of Choice in

Nonlinear Sequential Fractional Integro‐Differential Systems: Caputo‐Type Derivatives and Boundary Constraints

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 16, Page 15194-15218, 15 November 2025.
ABSTRACT In recent years, the study of sequential fractional differential equations (SFDEs) has become increasingly important in multiple domains of science and engineering. This work investigates a new class of boundary value problems (BVPs) characterized by nonlocal closed boundary conditions involving SFDEs with Caputo fractional integral operators.

Chaos, External Noise and Fredholm Theory [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics, 1980
Summary: The Fredholm theory of integral equations is applied to the Perron-Frobenius equation which determines the invariant measure of nonlinear difference equations. The resultant Fredholm determinant \(D\) is identical to \(1/\zeta\). where \(\zeta\) is the Artin-Mazur-Ruelle \(\zeta\)-function. From the investigation of \(D\) we get the observable

A Flexible Derivation Approach for the Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesNumerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations, Volume 41, Issue 6, November 2025.
ABSTRACT We propose a new method for the numerical solution of boundary value problems associated to partial differential equations. This method is based on standard approximation techniques, like numerical differentiation of univariate functions and curve interpolation, so it can be easily generalized to high‐dimensional problems.

Optimal Control Strategies and Continuous Dependence for Stochastic Hilfer Fractional Systems With Delay: A Volterra‐Fredholm Integro‐Differential Approach

open access: yesOptimal Control Applications and Methods, Volume 46, Issue 6, Page 2708-2726, November/December 2025.
The graphical abstract highlights our research on Sobolev Hilfer fractional Volterra‐Fredholm integro‐differential (SHFVFI) control problems for 1<ϱ<2$$ 1<\varrho <2 $$. We begin with the Hilfer fractional derivative (HFD) of order (1,2) in Sobolev type, which leads to Volterra‐Fredholm integro‐differential equations.

Multiplicative functionals on ensembles of non-intersecting paths

open access: yes, 2013
The purpose of this article is to develop a theory behind the occurrence of "path-integral" kernels in the study of extended determinantal point processes and non-intersecting line ensembles. Our first result shows how determinants involving such kernels

Some New Properties in Fredholm Theory, Schechter Essential Spectrum, and Application to Transport Theory

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2008
The theory of measures of noncompactness has many applications on topology, functional analysis, and operator theory. In this paper, we consider one axiomatic approach to this notion which includes the most important classical definitions.

Truncated Weighted Singular Value Decomposition Solution of Tikhonov Regularized Softening Shear Band Problems in Finite Elements

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 126, Issue 19, 15 October 2025.
ABSTRACT A Truncated Weighted Singular Value Decomposition (TWSVD) based approach is proposed for the Tikhonov regularized solution of the ill‐posed softening type nonlocal plasticity model. Tikhonov regularization provides a stable, smooth, and mesh‐independent solution of integral‐type nonlocal plasticity, but is computationally expensive for large ...

Fredholm theory in ordered Banach algebras [PDF]

open access: yesQuaestiones Mathematicae, 2016
This paper illustrates some initial steps taken in the effort of unifying the theory of positivity in ordered Banach algebas (OBAs) with the general Fred-holm theory in Banach algebras. We introduce here upper Weyl and upper Browder elements in an OBA relative to an arbitrary Banach algebra homomorphism and investigate the spectra corresponding to the ...
