Free Boundary Problems and Density Perimeter

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 1996
This paper is devoted to study the existence of optimal domains which minimize the domain energy functional \(\Omega\to E(\Omega)\). Special cases are studied in which a family of open subsets of a fixed bounded set is compact in the char-topology defined on the family of measurable subsets of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) by the \(L^2\)-matrix, and in which the ...

Quantum Emitters in Hexagonal Boron Nitride: Principles, Engineering and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Quantum emitters in hexagonal boron nitride have emerged as a promising candidate for quantum information science. This review examines the fundamentals of these quantum emitters, including their level structures, defect engineering, and their possible chemical structures.

G-Doob-Meyer Decomposition and Its Applications in Bid-Ask Pricing for Derivatives under Knightian Uncertainty

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2015
The target of this paper is to establish the bid-ask pricing framework for the American contingent claims against risky assets with G-asset price systems on the financial market under Knightian uncertainty. First, we prove G-Dooby-Meyer decomposition for

A mathematical model for chronic wounds

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering, 2011
Chronic wounds are often associated with ischemic conditions whereby the blood vascular system is damaged. A mathematical model which accounts for these conditions is developed and computational results are described in the two-dimensional radially ...

One-Dimensional Parabolic Free Boundary Problems [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Review, 1977
Frequently, diffusion processes require the determination of a free surface from overprescribed boundary data. A commonly used constructive solution technique for such problems is the method of straight lines. This paper illustrates the steps involved in the solution process. Specifically, the method of lines is used to approximate various explicit and

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
