Social Identity and Social Free-Riding [PDF]
Abstract We model individual identification choice as a strategic group formation problem. When choosing a social group to identify with, individuals appreciate high social status and a group stereotype to which they have a small social distance. A group׳s social status and stereotype are shaped by the (exogenous) individual attributes of its members

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

Engineering New‐to‐Nature Biological Pathways for β,γ‐Alkanediol Synthesis
β,γ‐Alkanediols are value‐added chemicals to be used as functional solvents, biofuels, and cosmetic components. This work demonstrates a carboligation‐mediated approach for synthesis of linear chain β,γ‐alkanediols in Escherichia coli, namely, hexane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐HDO) and pentane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐PDO). The engineered E. coli cells produce 152.2 mm (17.98

A Note on the Design of Experiments Involving Public Goods [PDF]
Concern about potential free riding in the provision of public goods has a long history. More recently, experimental economists have turned their attention to the conditions under which free riding would be expected to occur.

Real‐Time Digital Micromotor Tracking‐Enabled Ultrasensitive Immunoassay
An AI‐facilitated real‐time digital micromotor tracking‐enabled immunoassay is developed, which leverages a self‐developed multi‐microparticle tracking system to monitor micromotor motion trajectories in a real‐time manner for digital protein analysis.

Protein complexes like KIBRA‐PKMζ are crucial for maintaining memories, forming month‐long protein traces in memory‐tagged neurons, but conventional RNA‐seq analysis fails to detect their transcript changes, leaving memory molecules undetected in the shadows of abundantly‐expressed genes.

United Producers Inc. Chapter 11 Restructuring [PDF]
Cooperatives have been used as examples of successful collective action activities. However, member free riding within cooperatives and other collective action groups continues to be a challenge.

ABSTRACT Layered 2D materials are considered as promising for memristive applications due to their ultimate vertical scalability compared to conventional semiconductor films and pronounced hysteresis properties. Bias‐resolved Raman and Photoluminescence mapping is used to quantify strain from phonon shifts and carrier density from the exciton‐trion ...
