Unitary representability of free abelian topological groups
For every Tikhonov space X the free abelian topological group A(X) and the free locally convex vector space L(X) admit a topologically faithful unitary representation. For compact spaces X this is due to Jorge Galindo.

Countably compact group topologies on arbitrarily large free Abelian groups
We prove that if there are $\mathfrak c$ incomparable selective ultrafilters then, for every infinite cardinal $ $ such that $ ^ = $, there exists a group topology on the free Abelian group of cardinality $ $ without nontrivial convergent sequences and such that every finite power is countably compact.

We extend the (gauged) Skyrme model to the case in which the global isospin group (which usually is taken to be SU(N)) is a generic compact connected Lie group G.

Interpretability and Representability of Commutative Algebra, Algebraic Topology, and Topological Spectral Theory for Real-World Data. [PDF]
This article investigates how persistent homology, persistent Laplacians, and persistent commutative algebra reveal complementary geometric, topological, and algebraic invariants or signatures of real‐world data. By analyzing shapes, synthetic complexes, fullerenes, and biomolecules, the article shows how these mathematical frameworks enhance ...

A Distinguished Subgroup of Compact Abelian Groups
Here “group” means additive abelian group. A compact group G contains δ–subgroups, that is, compact totally disconnected subgroups Δ such that G/Δ is a torus.

Free Abelian topological groups and the Pontryagin-Van Kampen duality [PDF]
We study the class of Tychonoff topological spaces such that the free Abelian topological group A(X) is reflexive (satisfies the Pontryagin-van Kampen duality). Every such X must be totally path-disconnected and (if it is pseudocompact) must have a trivial first cohomotopy group π1(X).

Non-invertible global symmetries and completeness of the spectrum
It is widely believed that consistent theories of quantum gravity satisfy two basic kinematic constraints: they are free from any global symmetry, and they contain a complete spectrum of gauge charges.

Torsion-Free Abelian Groups with Prescribed Finitely Topologized Endomorphism Rings [PDF]
We will show that any complete Hausdorff ring R R which admits, as a basis of neighborhoods of 0, a family of right ideals I I with R / I R/I cotorsion-free can be realized as a topological endomorphism ring of some torsion-free abelian group with the finite ...

The character of free topological groups I
A systematic analysis is made of the character of the free and free abelian topological groups on uniform spaces and on topological spaces. In the case of the free abelian topological group on a uniform space, expressions are given for the character in ...

Free abelian topological groups on countable CW-complexes [PDF]
Let n be a positive integer, Bn the closed unit ball in Euclidean n-space, and X any countable CW-complex of dimension at most n. It is shown that the free Abelian topological group on Bn, F(Bn), has F(X) as a closed subgroup. It is also shown that for every differentiable manifold Y of dimension at most n, F(Y) is a closed subgroup of F(Bn).
