Data Structure Free Compilation [PDF]
This paper presents a technique to construct compilers expressed in a strict, purely functional setting. The compilers do not rely on any explicit data structures, like trees, stacks or queues, to efficiently perform the compilation task. They are constructed as a set of functions which are directly called by the parser.

Free the Data: The End of Genetic Data as Trade Secrets [PDF]
For patients and their clinicians, broad access to information about DNA sequence variation is critical. The information is essential to interpreting the clinical significance of genetic variants, but it is not always readily available. At the present time, genetic test providers have the ability to create private databases containing information they ...

Viscosity and effusion rate identification from free surface data
Based on new explicit expressions for sensitivity coefficients, this study proposes a new method to solve two inverse problems in time-dependent three-dimensional gravity-driven thin film flow down an inclined plane governed by free-surface lubrication ...

Data-Free Adversarial Distillation
Knowledge Distillation (KD) has made remarkable progress in the last few years and become a popular paradigm for model compression and knowledge transfer. However, almost all existing KD algorithms are data-driven, i.e., relying on a large amount of original training data or alternative data, which is usually unavailable in real-world scenarios.

Maintenance-free global data storage [PDF]
Explores mechanisms for storage-level management in OceanStore, a global-scale distributed storage utility infrastructure, designed to scale to billions of users and exabytes of data. OceanStore automatically recovers from server and network failures, incorporates new resources and adjusts to usage patterns.

Conflict-Free Replicated Data Types [PDF]
Replicating data under Eventual Consistency (EC) allows any replica to accept updates without remote synchronisation. This ensures performance and scalability in large-scale distributed systems (e.g., clouds). However, published EC approaches are ad-hoc and error-prone.
