Dexamethasone for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Prevention in Pediatric Patients: International Consensus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An international Delphi panel of experts developed consensus statements to delineate the circumstances where the risks of dexamethasone as an antiemetic do and do not outweigh its benefits. Procedure Experts in supportive care of pediatric patients were invited to participate.

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Completely free elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
This paper is a working out of the same-titled talk given by the author at the Third International Conference on Finite Fields and Their Applications in Glasgow, 1995. We give a survey on recent results on the characterization, the structure, the enumeration, and the construction of completely free elements and normal bases in finite dimensional ...

On completely free elements in finite fields [PDF]

open access: yesDesigns, Codes and Cryptography, 1994
Let \(q>1\) be a prime power and \(m>1\) an integer and \(GF (q^ m)\) the Galois field of order \(q^ m\). Let \(\sigma: GF (q^ m) \to GF (q^ m)\), \(\nu\to \nu^ q\) be the Frobenius automorphism of \(GF (q^ m)\) over \(GF (q)\). The Galois group of \(GF (q^ m)\) over \(GF (q)\) is cyclic of order \(m\) and is generated by \(\sigma\). \(GF (q^ d)\) is a

Locking-Free Finite Element Methods for Poroelasticity [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2016
Summary: We propose a new formulation along with a family of finite element schemes for the approximation of the interaction between fluid motion and linear mechanical response of a porous medium, known as Biot's consolidation problem. The steady-state version of the system is recast in terms of displacement, pressure, and volumetric stress, and both ...

Survival Outcomes and Complications Among Canadian Children With Retinoblastoma: A Population‐Based Report From CYP‐C

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common pediatric ocular cancer, yet population‐based data on survival and risk factors remain limited. This study aimed to describe survival in a large national RB cohort and identify predictors of death and complications.

Fractal Two-Level Finite Element Method For Free Vibration of Cracked Beams

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1998
The fractal two-level finite element method is extended to the free vibration behavior of cracked beams for various end boundary conditions. A cracked beam is separated into its singular and regular regions. Within the singular region, infinite number of

Finite element formulation for free vibration of composite beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Investigations concerning the dynamic response of composite beams with partial interaction are scarce. Derivation of the differential equations describing the interaction between composite elements normally involves with the solution of high order system

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

A New Triangular Hybrid Displacement Function Element for Static and Free Vibration Analyses of Mindlin-Reissner Plate

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
A new 3-node triangular hybrid displacement function Mindlin-Reissner plate element is developed. Firstly, the modified variational functional of complementary energy for Mindlin-Reissner plate, which is eventually expressed by a so-called displacement ...
