Ductility Tuning via Cluster Network Characteristics of Porous Components

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Network optimization via cluster characteristics induced by interaction of stress concentration is proposed, demonstrating increased cluster size and dispersion in non‐uniform porous components. The optimized structures exhibit, for the first time, that enhanced ductility and damage progression is controllable through zigzag cluster network designed by

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Traversing the speech and thought presentation features of Merlinda Bobis’s “The Sadness Collector” [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Journal of English Language Studies (AJELS), 2013
This study aims to describe the effects of stylistic features in extrapolating the meaning and sociocultural realm of Merlinda Bobis’s short story, “The Sadness Collector.” The story’s theme, the breakdown of a family brought about by migration, is ...

Stance-taking in Spanish-speaking Preschoolers' Argumentative Interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The aim of this study is to determine what linguistic resources are used for stance-taking in confrontational interactions. For this purpose, we analyze 70 argumentative sequences in spontaneous peer conversations during play situations of 4 dyads (2 mid

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Rhapsodie flaubertienne. Le tempo discursif dans Madame Bovary

open access: yesFlaubert: Revue Critique et Génétique
Flaubert’s literary practice reveals his obsessive desire for a sentence that must be like a ‘good verse, unchanging, as rhythmic, as sonorous’. This work of stylistic finesse is interwoven with the work of representing the characters’speech. By focusing

The Relation between the Public Opinion and the Narrative Utterance in Kálmán Mikszáth´s Fiction [PDF]

open access: yesSlovenska Literatura, 2017
Anecdotal narration outlived the 19th century in Central Europe and its new forms lead to some of the definitive works of modern literature, as Hašek’s world renowned Švejk proves.

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Terrorizing Advocacy and the First Amendment: Free Expression and the Fallacy of Mutual Exclusivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Traditional free speech doctrine is inadequate to account for modern terrorist speech. Unprotected threats and substantially protected lawful advocacy are not mutually exclusive.
