Homotopy orbits of free loop spaces [PDF]
Let X be a space with free loop space ΛX and mod two cohomology R = H*X. We construct functors Ωλ(R) and ℓ(R) together with algebra homomorphisms e:Ωλ(R)→H∗(ΛX) and ψ:ℓ(R)→H∗(ES1×S1ΛX). When X is 1-connected and R is a symmetric algebra we show that these are isomorphisms.

Geometric and Functional Analysis, 1997In the main result of the paper, sufficient conditions for the exponential map of an infinite-dimensional Riemannian (Hilbert) manifold to be a nonlinear Fredholm map of index zero are given. This result can be applied to the free loop space of a finite-dimensional manifold.
