Exact closed forms for the transfer matrix of free oscillations in finite periodic Timoshenko–Ehrenfest beams

open access: yesResults in Physics
In this work, we obtain closed-form expressions for the transfer matrix of free oscillations in finite periodic Timoshenko–Ehrenfest beams with an arbitrary number of cells.

Microsphere‐Templated Conductive Syntactic Foams for Recyclable and Additively Manufactured Soft Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a microsphere‐templated strategy to fabricate reprocessable PEDOT:PSS syntactic foams with tunable porosity, stable conductivity, and 3D printability. In situ PEDOT:PSS coatings create a conductive network that maintains electrical performance at high void fractions.

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Oscillations of Anisotropic Cylindrical Shells with Filler Supported with Cross Ribs System, under Axial Compression and Given Friction

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2017
This article is devoted to the study of free oscillations of anisotropic cylindrical shells with a solid filler, reinforced with discretely distributed cross ribs under axial compression systems, taking into account the friction between the contact ...

Oscillations of a viscous fluid with an inertial free surface

open access: yesСовременная математика: Фундаментальные направления
The problem of small motions and normal oscillations of a viscous fluid is investigated. The free surface contains heavy particles of some substance.

Investigation of a spatial double pendulum: an engineering approach

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2006
The behavior of a spatial double pendulum (SDP), comprising two pendulums that swing in different planes, was investigated. Movement equations (i.e., mathematical model) were derived for this SDP, and oscillations of the system were computed and compared

Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for

Spin and Charge Control of Topological End States in Chiral Graphene Nanoribbons on a 2D Ferromagnet

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral graphene nanoribbons on a ferromagnetic gadolinium‐gold surface alloy display tunable spin and charge states at their termini. Atomic work function variations and exchange fields enabe transitions between singlet, doublet, and triplet configurations.

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.
