Auditory Hyperresponsivity in Chronic Back Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial of Pain Reprocessing Therapy

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Heightened sensitivity to noxious stimulation is a hallmark of chronic pain. Emerging evidence suggests heightened unpleasantness to non‐noxious (eg, auditory) aversive stimulation also characterizes chronic pain, but its magnitude, neural mechanisms, and treatment modifiability remain unknown.

The Theory Model and Solution of the Wall Jet of Platform Piston Wind

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2013
The platform piston wind is defined firstly. Then, the wall jet theory of the platform piston wind is put forward. Through the mathematical modeling, the initial segment and main section theoretical model of the platform piston wind is built up.

Vibration isolation in a free-piston driven Expansion tube [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The stress waves produced by rapid piston deceleration are a fundamental feature of free-piston driven expansion tubes, and wave propagation has to be considered in the design process. For lower enthalpy test conditions, these waves can traverse the tube

Linezolid‐mediated Prevention of Fibroblast Activation and Tissue Fibrosis via Mitochondrial Translation Inhibition

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Beyond its role as a ribosome‐targeting antibiotic, linezolid was recently shown to modulate immune responses by inhibiting mitochondrial translation. Because mitochondrial dysfunction is implicated in various fibrotic diseases, including systemic sclerosis (SSc), this study aimed to evaluate the antifibrotic potential of linezolid and ...

Free-running InGaAs single photon detector with 1 dark count per second at 10% efficiency

open access: yes, 2014
We present a free-running single photon detector for telecom wavelengths based on a negative feedback avalanche photodiode (NFAD). A dark count rate as low as 1 cps was obtained at a detection efficiency of 10%, with an afterpulse probability of 2.2% for

Excessive Ostial Stent Protrusion: Evaluation of Management Strategies and Clinical Outcomes of the Side Flap Technique

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Accurate stent positioning in aorto‐ostial lesions remains challenging due to complex three‐dimensional anatomy, lack of optimal fluoroscopic projections, and high rates of geographic miss. Stent overhang impairs guide catheter re‐engagement and complicates future revascularization.

A Methodology to Integrate Closed‐Cycle Heat Pumps into Batch Distillation Columns

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Batch distillation often cannot use vapor recompression due to contamination risks in food and pharma. This study proposes a design for integrating closed‐loop heat pumps using natural fluids. Results show significant energy savings, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional setups.
