Beamforming optics for short distance FSO links is designed and laboratory tested. The transmitting optics is designed to collimate a diverging laser beam. The receiving optics concentrates light in a fiber-pigtailed photodetector. Results are reported.

UAVs are a possible future application for both civil and military use.
