Purpose: Reconstructing soft tissue defects around the knee with free flaps presents challenges in recipient vessel selection. Although the superficial femoral artery (SFA) offers exposure ease and anatomical stability, concerns arise regarding its ...

This study develops a hierarchically porous hydrogel patch strategy (HPMP), based on gas‐shearing microfluidics and an aqueous two‐phase system to fabricate porous microgels as microgel‐based bioinks. The porous microgels with controllable porous structure exhibit excellent cellular behavior.

Breast Reconstruction with Microvascular [PDF]
The free muscle-sparing transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (MS-TRAM) and deepinferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flaps involve transferring skin and subcutaneous tissuefrom the lower abdominal area and have many features that make them well ...

Esophageal perforation is a rare but potentially fatal complication of robot-assisted thyroidectomy (RAT). Herein, we report the long-term outcome of an esophageal reconstruction with a jejunal free flap for esophageal rupture after RAT.

AbstractBackground:The objective of this study was to compare the free muscle‐musculocutaneous flaps and free perforator skin flaps used for soft tissue reconstruction of the lower extremities. Methods:Fifty‐three patients whose skin and soft tissue of the lower extremities had been reconstructed were divided into two groups: a perforator flap group ...

Cortical Somatostatin Neurons Regulate Seizure Susceptibility via MINAR1/Gαs–cAMP Signaling
Our study identifies MINAR1 as a novel regulator of cortical interneuron excitability and seizure susceptibility. MINAR1 is preferentially expressed in SST+ interneurons. Genetic ablation of MINAR1 leads to seizure hypersensitivity, reduced SST+ neuron excitability, and impaired Gαs–cAMP signaling, disrupting the E/I balance.

Resilient Calvarial Bone Marrow Supports Retinal Repair in Type 2 Diabetes
Skull bone (calvarium) marrow in diabetic mice stay structurally intact and keeps making blood cells, unlike the bone marrow of the leg bones. The skull marrow is exposed to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which contains protective molecules called oxysterols.

Defect‐Rich 2D Layered Double Hydroxides Enhance Sonodynamic Antibacterial Therapy
This study develops defect‐rich ultrathin ZnCuW‐LDH nanosheets (DR‐ZnCuW‐LDH) via acid etching. DR‐ZnCuW‐LDH exhibits fourfold enhanced US‐triggered ROS production due to oxygen defects and electronic modulation, demonstrating potent antibacterial efficacy in vitro/vivo.
