Assembling a True “Olympic Gel” From over 16 000 Combinatorial DNA Rings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Olympic gels are an elusive class of soft matter, consisting of molecular networks held together purely by mechanically interlocked rings. Their topological structure promises unique properties and functions, but their synthesis has proven notoriously difficult.

Modes of interaction between individuals dominate the topologies of real world networks.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
We find that the topologies of real world networks, such as those formed within human societies, by the Internet, or among cellular proteins, are dominated by the mode of the interactions considered among the individuals.

Viral Infection‐Inspired Autonomous Detection of Fusion‐Competent Viruses for Screening and Environmental Surveillance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by viral entry mechanisms, the FUSION assay enables autonomous detection of respiratory viruses via membrane fusion–triggered CRISPR‐Cas13a activation. VEACON selectively fuses with fusion‐competent viruses, triggering fluorescence within confined vesicles.

Characterizing Finite Groups through Equitable Graphs: A Graph-Theoretic Approach

open access: yesMathematics
This paper introduces equitable graphs of Type I associated with finite groups. We investigate the connectedness and some graph-theoretic properties of these graphs for various groups.

All‐Optical Reconfigurable Physical Unclonable Function for Sustainable Security

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical reconfigurable physical unclonable function (PUF) is demonstrated using plasmonic coupling–induced sintering of optically trapped gold nanoparticles, where Brownian motion serves as a robust entropy source. The resulting optical PUF exhibits high encoding density, strong resistance to modeling attacks, and practical authentication ...

Actuation of Cell Layers in Three Dimensions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The alignment of fibers and cells in living tissues affect their mechanical properties and functionality. In this context, one can draw an analogy between tissues and nematic liquid crystal elastomers. We explore this analogy by growing fibroblasts on 2D‐patterned substrates and observing the contraction of cell sheets upon detachment from the

Nearly free divisors and rational cuspidal curves

open access: yes, 2015
We define a class of plane curves which are close to the free divisors and such that conjecturally it contains the class of rational cuspidal curves. Using a recent result by U.

Turning Unpredictable Biomolecule Adsorption to Controlled Corona Formation: Focus on Carbon Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the protein corona formation onto carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) enhances their functionalities as platforms for cancer theranostics. Here, we reviewed the effects of the intrinsic and acquired properties of CNMs on protein corona formation, the consequent biological and toxicological outcomes, and the strategies to reshape corona formation ...

Fractionalization of coset non-invertible symmetry and exotic Hall conductance

open access: yesSciPost Physics
We investigate fractionalization of non-invertible symmetry in (2+1)D topological orders. We focus on coset non-invertible symmetries obtained by gauging non-normal subgroups of invertible $0$-form symmetries.
