Physics of Three-Dimensional Bosonic Topological Insulators: Surface-Deconfined Criticality and Quantized Magnetoelectric Effect

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2013
We discuss physical properties of “integer” topological phases of bosons in D=3+1 dimensions, protected by internal symmetries like time reversal and/or charge conservation.

Structural analysis of semantic networks: an exploratory study on the relationship between propositional representation and conceptual ecology in a physics topic

open access: yesInvestigações em Ensino de Ciências, 2018
In this paper, we explore the Conceptual Evolution thorough the use of multi-format assessment tools in a student’s group (N=28). We toke a reconsidered version of conceptual Change theory in which the conceptual complexity antagonizes the former version

Free Vibration Analysis of a Reconfigurable Modular Morphing Wing

open access: yesAerospace, 2022
Aircraft experience various phases during each flight. Optimal performance, without compromise, during various phases can be achieved through adaptability in the wing design.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Can You Hear the Shape of a Market? Geometric Arbitrage and Spectral Theory

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
Utilizing gauge symmetries, the Geometric Arbitrage Theory reformulates any asset model, allowing for arbitrage by means of a stochastic principal fibre bundle with a connection whose curvature measures the “instantaneous arbitrage capability”.

The topological properties of q-spaces in free topological groups

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2017
Given a Tychonoff space $X$, let $F(X)$ and $A(X)$ be respectively the free topological group and the free Abelian topological group over $X$ in the sense of Markov. In this paper, we provide some topological properties of $X$ whenever one of $F(X)$, $A(X)$, some finite level of $F(X)$ and some finite level of $A(X)$ is $q$-space (in particular ...

On the topology of free paratopological groups [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 2012
The result often known as Joiner's lemma is fundamental in understanding the topology of the free topological group $F(X)$ on a Tychonoff space$X$. In this paper, an analogue of Joiner's lemma for the free paratopological group $\FP(X)$ on a $T_1$ space $X$ is proved. Using this, it is shown that the following conditions are equivalent for a space $X$:
