Estimation of Intracellular Free Triiodothyronine in Man*
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1980T3 RIA and measurements of dialyzable fraction T3 (DFT3) have been applied to human erythrocyte (RBC) cytoplasm in order to quantitate the intracellular free T3 (FT3) concentration in man. Mean intracellular T3, DFT3, and FT3 in RBCs from four normal subjects were, respectively, 12 ng/dl, 1.25%, and 0.15 mg/dl.

MEASUREMENT OF FREE THYROXINE AND FREE TRIIODOTHYRONINE IN THYROTOXICOSIS AND HYPOTHYROIDISM
Clinical Endocrinology, 1984SUMMARYFree T4 and free T3 concentrations in thyrotoxic and hypothyroid patients at presentation differentiated those with thyroid disease from euthyroid control subjects and were closely correlated with T4/TBG ratio. A further group of thyrotoxic patients was followed serially during treatment with carbimazole.

Findings on thyroid function in blind subjects are lacking. The aim of this study was to investigate the thyroid hormonal pattern in prepubertal blind subjects. Six healthy and 8 blind males, aged 7-10 yr, in Tanner stage one puberty, living at Institute "Martuscelli" for blind young subjects, Napoli, Italy, were studied. Each had a TRH (200 micrograms)

The Free Triiodothyronine (T3) Index
Annals of Internal Medicine, 1978In a large number of normal men (n = 111) and women (n = 110) the free triiodothyronine (T3), index, calculated from serum total T3 and T3-uptake, was highly correlated with free T3, measured by equilibrium dialysis. The correlation was almost as high as that of the free thyroxine (T4) index with free T4.

The influence of thyroxine on the serum free triiodothyronine concentration
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1976By means of measurement of the serum free triiodothyronine fraction (%FT3) by equilibrium dialysis, the influence of varying serum concentrations of thyroxine (T4) on %FT3 was studied in conditions associated with lack or excess of serum T4 and in serum enrichment with T4 in vitro. The enrichment of pooled serum with T4 caused significant increases of %

Free triiodothyronine toxicosis in a patient with multinodular goiter
The American Journal of Medicine, 1990The patient, a 75-year-old man with a history of hypertension, renal calculi, gout, and colon diverticulosis, presented for a routine clinic visit on June 29, 1987, with complaints of nervousness, insomnia, excessive sweating, breathlessness, and fatigue for 1 month. He denied exposure to excess iodide. Physical examination revealed an anxious, elderly

Total and Free Triiodothyronine and Thyroxine in Early Infancy
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1974ABSTRACT Serum total and free triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) concentrations and thyrotropin (TSH) levels were measured in cord serum (n = 30), and serum from the same infants 3 days (n = 26) and 6 weeks of age (n = 15). Mean total T3 levels at these times were 48 ± 3, 125 ± 8 and 163 ± 6 ng/100 ml respectively (all values mean ± sem).
