Annual and Seasonal Rainfall Variability in Mozambique During the Nineteenth Century

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
This paper presents the first annually and seasonally resolved reconstructions of nineteenth‐century rainfall variability for Mozambique derived from the analysis of extensive documentary evidence. It reveals spatially heterogeneous rainfall patterns with recurrent multi‐year droughts, episodic extreme wet events, and a strong coherence between ...

Biomaterials for resolution of peri‐implantitis: Consensus report of Workgroup 2 of the IADR Implantology Research Group Best Evidence Consensus Symposium on Peri‐Implant Disease and Its Treatment

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Peri‐implantitis is a destructive disease affecting the tissues surrounding dental implants. Biomaterials may be applied during surgical treatment to reconstruct bony defects and support soft tissue healing. However, current evidence is unclear if these treatments increase the likelihood of peri‐implantitis resolution.

A multicenter, controlled, randomized trial of home‐applied dual‐light photodynamic therapy in stage I to III periodontitis (LumoNorth2022 study)

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Periodontitis is a widespread, chronic infection‐triggered inflammatory condition in which professional supportive periodontal care (SPC) and daily oral hygiene form the backbone to reduce the disease activity. Early‐life adverse events and risk of inflammatory bowel disease: A Scandinavian birth cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives The experience of childhood stressful or adverse life events is believed to imprint on immunological pathways and, therefore, might have lasting effects on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) development. This study aimed to examine the association between experiences of early‐life adverse events and later IBD risk. Methods We followed

Effects on intrusive memories of playing Tetris with or without simultaneous and deliberate memory recall

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, EarlyView.
Abstract Two interventions that tax visuospatial working memory (WM) may reduce intrusive memories despite differing procedurally: playing Tetris with or without memory recall. Accordingly, this study examined how engagement with negative memories influences intrusion frequency (Experiment 1) and WM load (Experiment 2).

Where opportunity meets desire: Predicting antlerless deer harvest selectivity during Wisconsin's nine‐day firearm season

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
We predicted Wisconsin deer hunters’ likelihood to take an available antlerless deer harvest opportunity on a given day of the 9‐day firearm season using a combination of personal characteristics of the hunter and situational factors of the hunting day.

The Early Regenerative Events in the Human Tympanic Membrane After In Vivo Traumatization

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
At 20 h after in vivo traumatization a regenerative response in the human tympanic membrane is activated. The results show an upregulated proliferation activity in the UPT in early healing and confirm the previously described regenerative regions of the annulus and malleus.
