Molecular beam epitaxial growth of high-quality InSb on InP and GaAs substrates [PDF]
Epitaxial layers of InSb were grown on InP and GaAs substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. The dependence of the epilayer quality on flux ratio, J sub Sb4/J sub In, was studied. Deviation from an optimum value of J sub Sb4/J sub In (approx.

This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

Transmission Infrared Spectra of CH_3-, CD_3-, and C_(10)H_(21)-Ge(111) Surfaces [PDF]
The surface chemistry of CH_3–, CD_3–, and C_(10)H_(21)–Ge(111) surfaces prepared through a bromination/alkylation method have been investigated by infrared spectroscopy. Well-ordered CH_3–Ge(111) surfaces could be prepared only if, prior to bromination,

Incorporation of cytochrome oxidase into cardiolipin bilayers and induction of nonlamellar phases. [PDF]
Cytochrome oxidase from beef heart has been lipid-substituted with beef heart cardiolipin. The lipid phase behavior and protein aggregation state of the reconstituted complexes have been studied with 31P NMR, freeze-fracture electron microscopy, and ...

Controllable Dynamic Mechanical Cell Stimulation using Magnetically Actuated Artificial Cilia
This paper introduces a platform based on magnetic artificial cilia for providing controllable dynamic mechanical stimulation to single cells, suitable for investigating large cell populations and enabling live cell imaging. Proof‐of‐principle experiments show that cell morphology is strongly influenced by the artificial cilia, that cellular forces can

Coexistence of two- and three-dimensional Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in Ar^+ -irradiated KTaO_3
We report the electron doping in the surface vicinity of KTaO_3 by inducing oxygen-vacancies via Ar^+ -irradiation. The doped electrons have high mobility (> 10^4 cm^2/Vs) at low temperatures, and exhibit Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations with both two- and

A human microfluidic blood‐brain barrier (mBBB) model enables spatially resolved comparison of nanoparticle trafficking. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), liposomes, and nanoplastics exhibit distinct transport and disruption behaviors, revealing that membrane composition and uptake pathways govern BBB interaction.

Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

Freeze-Etching Studies of Human Platelets [PDF]
Abstract The freeze-etching technique was used to study morphologic features of normal human platelets. A well-developed canalicular system was demonstrated within the platelet, with communication to the plasma surface of the platelets and with direct contact of the canaliculi with organelles. Cross-section fractures of granules revealed
