FREIGHT TRANSPORT IN EUROPE

open access: yesIATSS Research, 2000
This paper presents an overview of European policy on the interconnected cross-border transport networks as well as severe problems in estimating empirically the avalanche of goods movements in the European Union (EU). In particular, it deals with the Transalpine freight transport case, which represents one of the most challenging operational and ...

Benefits of travel time savings for freight transportation : beyond the costs [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this presentation is to investigate whether current practices in Cost Benefit Analysis do not underestimate the actual benefits accruing to the economy when transport investment reduces transport time.

Therapeutic Extracellular Vesicles from Synovial Fibroblast‐Primed MSCs for Osteoarthritis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
EVs derived from the microenvironment of SFs transferred MSCs (miSF‐MSC‐EVs) enhanced the expression of miRNAs that regulate cell migration, cell adhesion, and the TGF‐β signaling pathway, demonstrating superior anti‐inflammatory and cartilage regeneration effects compared to conventional MSC‐EVs.

Gardiquimod Nanoemulsion Targets Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Lesions Reducing Systemic Toxicity and Parasite Burden

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.

An Adaptive Conjoint Analysis of Freight Service Alternatives: Evaluating the Maritime Alternative [PDF]

open access: yes
The growing interest towards a re-balancing of freight traffic over the different modes, has brought renewed focus on the "Motorways of the sea" as they have been defined by the EU Commission in the recently issued White paper (2001).

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...
