O auteur a ver-se a si mesmo ao espelho: as alegorias do enunciador em Jean Cocteau [PDF]
- Jean Cocteau, French cinema auteur avant la lettre, has consecrated his uniqueness to the defense of the “poet” and the promotion of its artistic ideals, before the French Nouvelle Vague inspired the break away from the filmic tradition and ahead of ...

Spin Defects in Hexagonal Boron Nitride as 2D Strain Sensors
We demonstrate that boron‐vacancy (VB${\rm V}_{\rm B}$) centers in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) enable quantitative strain sensing with sub‐micrometer resolution. Using this approach under continuously tunable in‐plane stress, we precisely quantify strain‐induced shifts of the E2g${\rm E}_{2{\rm g}}$ Raman mode in multilayer hBN, establishing VB${\rm ...

While graphic extremism in the cinema is certainly not new and can be traced back to the oeuvres of twentieth-century auteurs—such as Luis Buñuel, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Rainer Warner Fassbinder—a more recent urgency to characterise and define the ...

4D‐Printed Magneto‐Plasmonic Microrobots for Programmable Spatiotemporal De‐Icing
A 4D‐printing strategy is introduced to achieve programmable de‐icing devices. By aligning gold–magnetite nanofillers within a photosensitive resin, the printed structures exhibit dual magnetic and plasmonic functionalities, enabling precise spatio‐temporal ice removal through thermoplasmonic effects.

Reprogrammable multi‐material smart textiles knitted from liquid crystal elastomer fibers undergo 2D and 3D deformation under thermal and photo stimuli. Circularly knitted tubular structures reversibly contract in radial and axial directions, enabling autonomous climbing, liquid release, and micro pumping.

Interstices and impurities in the cinema: Art and science
Through a close analysis of Alain Resnais’s Mon Oncle d’Amerique (1980), Angela Dalle Vacche argues that the French filmmaker interrogates the “humanity” of humans through art, science, and religion in the light of Andre Bazin’s film theory.

DNA‐Origami‐Assembled Rhodium Nanoantennas for Deep‐UV Label‐Free Single‐Protein Detection
Deep‐UV autofluorescence of single proteins in DNA origami‐based rhodium nanoantennas. Precisely positioned within the plasmonic nanogap, proteins retain their native state while their intrinsic emission is strongly amplified, enabling label‐free single‐molecule detection and opening new opportunities for highly sensitive and specific biosensing ...

Inducing Ferromagnetism by Structural Engineering in a Strongly Spin‐Orbit Coupled Oxide
ABSTRACT Magnetic materials with strong spin‐orbit coupling (SOC) are essential for the advancement of spin‐orbitronic devices, as they enable efficient spin‐charge conversion, complex magnetic structures, spin‐valley physics, topological phases and other exotic phenomena.
