OFDMA/SC-FDMA aided space-time shift keying for dispersive multi-user scenarios

open access: yes, 2013
Motivated by the recent concept of Space-Time Shift Keying (STSK) developed for achieving a flexible diversity versus multiplexing gain trade-off, we propose a novel Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)/Single Carrier Frequency Division ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Design of Balanced Wide Gap No-Hit Zone Sequences with Optimal Auto-Correlation

open access: yesMathematics
Frequency-hopping multiple access is widely adopted to blunt narrow-band jamming and limit spectral disclosure in cyber–physical systems, yet its practical resilience depends on three sequence-level properties.

Design and Implementation of MC-CDMA Technique Using FPGA [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2013
Multicarrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) is attractive technique for high speed wireless data transmission; it's a combination of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA).

Joint Decision-Directed Channel and Noise-Variance Estimation for MIMO OFDM/SDMA Systems Based on Expectation-Conditional Maximization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A joint channel impulse response (CIR) and noise-variance estimation scheme is proposed for multiuser multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing/space-division multiple access (OFDM/SDMA) systems, which is based on ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Multi-User Detection for Group Orthogonal Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access System in Frequency Selective Rayleigh Fading Channel

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2008
Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) suffers from multi-user interference (MUI), and intersymbol interference (ISI) under frequency selective multi-path fading channels. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple access (OFDM) is MUI free but achieves lower

Analysis and Evaluation of Pattern Division Multiple Access Scheme Jointed with 5G Waveforms

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) techniques represent a key feature for 5G systems in order to increase multiple users' systems' capacity. In particular, we propose, for study, a pattern division multiple access (PDMA) technique, which defines a ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
