Performance Analysis of OFDMA and SC-FDMA

open access: yesVìsnik Nacìonalʹnogo Tehnìčnogo Unìversitetu Ukraïni Kììvsʹkij Polìtehnìčnij Ìnstitut: Serìâ Radìotehnìka, Radìoaparatobuduvannâ, 2017
The main challenge in any high-speed digital communication system is how to maximize the data rate with minimizing the bit error rate. Several techniques have been developed to achieve this point.

On the Information Rate of Single-Carrier FDMA Using Linear Frequency Domain Equalization and Its Application for 3GPP-LTE Uplink

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2009
This paper compares the information rate achieved by SC-FDMA (single-carrier frequency-division multiple access) and OFDMA (orthogonal frequency-division multiple access), where a linear frequency-domain equalizer is assumed to combat frequency selective

A novel uplink multiple access scheme based on TDS-FDMA

open access: yes, 2011
This contribution proposes a novel time-domain synchronous frequency division multiple access (TDS-FDMA) scheme to support multi-user uplink application.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Use of Time-Frequency Analysis and Neural Networks for Mode Identification in a Wireless Software-Defined Radio Approach

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
The use of time-frequency distributions is proposed as a nonlinear signal processing technique that is combined with a pattern recognition approach to identify superimposed transmission modes in a reconfigurable wireless terminal based on software ...

Linear equalizers for quasi-synchronous block spreading CDMA systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Recently, a block spreading code division multiple access (BS-CDMA) technique was presented whereby user-specific preceding along with orthogonal spreading codes are used to achieve multi-user interference (MUI) free when all users arrive at the base ...

An energy-efficient and elastic optical multiple access system based on coherent interleaved frequency division multiple access

open access: yesOptics Express, 2013
This paper proposes a novel bandwidth-elastic and energy-efficient passive optical network (PON) based on the coherent interleaved frequency division multiple access (IFDMA) scheme. We experimentally demonstrate the coherent IFDMA-PON uplink transmission up-to 30 Gbps over a 30 km standard single-mode fiber with 2 × optical network units (ONUs).

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
